Linden breathe - A lifelong, ongoing painting series I started in 2022. Peace as an exercise to understand or feel another human, language or universe. So I asked myself when do I experience this in my daily life in Berlin. Most of the time, when I ride my bike to meet another person, I look up to the linden trees how the light and the wind is coming through the green and I am already with the other person in my thoughts and imaginations, dreaming about the future in what mood will he or she be. I’m already myself another person who rides the bike. So I had to paint this series of linden leaf paintings, each painting in a different language, mindset, logic, way of thinking, pace and way of touching the canvas. But it's not just about possibilities, it’s about being another person through imagination as your character is not fixed and defined. It changes through your mental state and a different behaviour and being confronted with the truth that you are not able to know the truth. You don’t know anything about the future. It’s about the unknown as an experience in front of the white canvas. So crossing the question of how I can be nobody even though I am somebody. Being in emptiness as fullness makes you free to become an open attitude for what will come towards you. All of them are meant to scratch the surface as a boundary in a flat way so that the material comes towards the viewer openly. The pure symbol hopefully turns into a space of experience - maybe a breath of peace. From 2022 - Eternity.
